ARCHION Corporation (hereinafter, the “Company”) recognizes the importance of the proper handling of personal information and, in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the “APPI”), other applicable laws and regulations, guidelines established by the national government, and guidelines and other standards established by the Personal Information Protection Commission, handles personal information in accordance with the following policy.

1. Purpose of Use

The Company shall use customers’ personal information for the purposes that have been publicly announced or notified to the customer and shall not use such information for any purposes other than these. In cases where personal information is provided directly by the customer in writing, the purpose of use shall be specified in advance. Provided, however, that the foregoing shall not apply where otherwise stipulated by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations.

2. Provision to Third Parties

As a general rule, the Company will not provide personal information provided by customers to any third party, except in the following cases:
(1) Where the customer’s consent has been obtained.
(2) Where the handling of personal information is outsourced to an external party within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
(3) Where there is an urgent need to protect the life, body, property, or other vital interests of an individual.
(4) Where cooperation is necessary for a national government, a local government, or the like to perform public affairs.
(5) In any other cases where provision is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

In addition, when providing “person‑related information” as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information to a third party, the Company will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

3. Joint Use of Personal Information

The Company may jointly use customers’ personal information after notifying customers of the prescribed matters in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or making such matters readily accessible to customers.

4. Safety Management Measures

With respect to customers’ personal information held by the Company, the Company will implement necessary and appropriate controls to prevent leakage, loss, alteration, and the like. In addition, while the Company may outsource the handling of customers’ personal information to external parties to the extent necessary, the Company will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision.

5. Disclosure, Correction, etc. of Personal Information

If a customer wishes to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, cessation of use, cessation of provision to third parties, erasure of the Company’s retained personal data concerning the customer, or disclosure of records of third‑party provision created by the Company, please submit a request using the form prescribed by the Company. Upon confirming that the request is made by the customer, the Company will respond without delay in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Purposes of Use of Personal Information and Joint Use

In accordance with the Privacy Policy, the Company hereby publicly announces the purposes of use of customers’ personal information and the details of joint use as set out below. “Customers” is used broadly to include officers and employees of the Company’s business partners, owners and users of vehicles, and other users of the Company’s products and services.

1. Purposes of Use

The Company will not use personal information entrusted by customers for any purposes other than the specific purposes set forth below.
• Sale and provision of products and services (being those of the Company, Mitsubishi Fuso group companies, Mitsubishi Fuso sales companies, Hino group companies, Hino sales companies, and the Company’s business alliance partners), and after‑sales services such as maintenance.
• Notification by mail, telephone, email, in‑person visits, or similar means regarding new products, new services, and campaigns.
• Planning, development, improvement, research, and marketing surveys for products and services aimed at enhancing quality and reliability so that customers are satisfied with the products and services.
• Contact and confirmation in the event of a recall or similar matter.
• Provision of the following services and products based on each vehicle’s vehicle‑condition information (including operation data, location data, control information, fault information, etc.):
(1) Services to support vehicle operation for customers (services that support improvement of customers’ vehicle uptime through proposals for preventive maintenance, rapid emergency repairs in the event of breakdowns on the road, fault diagnostics, and the like).
(2) Services to support vehicle operation management for customers (services that aggregate and analyze customers’ vehicle operation data and provide, for vehicle management, information such as location data, as well as advice on fuel‑efficient driving and safe driving).
(3) Services that provide customers and third parties with traffic information during disasters and real‑time traffic information (such as congestion information) by statistically processing and analyzing vehicle‑condition information.
(4) Other services and products intended to ensure customer satisfaction with services and products.
• Matters related to the foregoing purposes, and responses to customer inquiries regarding the handling of personal information and other related matters.
• In addition to the foregoing, any purposes separately notified to, or publicly announced for, customers at the time the Company collects personal information.
• If the purposes of use indicated above are to be changed, the Company will provide prior notice of, or publicly announce, the revised purposes of use.
The Company will newly explain the purposes to customers and obtain consent before using personal information for any purposes different from those indicated above.

2. Joint Use

The Company will jointly use customers’ personal information as set forth below.
• Items of personal information to be jointly used: Customers’ basic information such as name, address, telephone number, fax number, and email address, as well as information regarding customers’ vehicles (including vehicle‑condition information).
• Entities that will jointly use the information:
(1) ARCHION group companies as published on the Company’s website:

(2) To the extent necessary for the provision of products and services supplied through business alliances, the Company’s business alliance partners (including, in addition to those published on the Company’s website, distributors, trading companies, dealers of the Company’s products, body builders, manufacturers and trading companies of automobiles, automotive parts and accessories, operators of operation‑management services, vendors of systems and applications, research institutions, and other business alliance partners in sales, services, finance, insurance, rental, logistics, passenger transport, and similar fields).
• Purpose of joint use: The same as set forth in 1 above.

Anonymously Processed Information

The Company will, after taking measures prescribed by applicable laws and regulations with respect to personal information so that specific individuals cannot be identified and personal information cannot be restored, continuously create anonymously processed information and continuously utilize it and provide it to third parties.

1. Creation of Anonymously Processed Information

The handling details of the anonymously processed information created by the Company are as follows.
• Items of information concerning individuals included in the anonymously processed information:
• Information relating to vehicles (vehicle inspection entry information (excluding vehicle identification number, vehicle model, delivery date, owner, and user), maintenance history, etc.)
• Vehicle‑condition information (operation data, location data, control information, fault information, etc.)
As measures to prevent identification of specific individuals, the Company will carry out, for example, the following de‑identification and masking processes:
• De‑identification processing:
• With respect to location data, deletion of movement histories in the departure‑area zone and/or destination‑area zone, and deletion of highest‑density points
• Mesh processing of the target vehicle’s location data and the reception time thereof by region and time band, etc.
• Masking process
• Masking of vehicle identification numbers so that individuals cannot be identified, etc.
• Deletion of small‑count values so that individuals cannot be identified, etc.​

2. Provision of Anonymously Processed Information to Third Parties

The Company provides anonymously processed information to third parties and plans to continue providing it on an ongoing basis. When providing anonymously processed information, the Company will make it explicit to the recipient that the information is anonymously processed information.
